When first planning this post, I very almost named it the best places to eat in Camden Town. But I quickly realised that in my 20+ years of exploring Camden Town, I’d only ever really eaten at Camden Market. With so many delicious dishes on offer, I’ve never felt the need to go anywhere else.
Camden’s food markets are among the best in the entire city, with an ever-changing array of street food traders and restaurants fighting it out for Camden’s best dish.
And I’ve done my very best to try as many of them as possible!
So, if you’re looking for somewhere to eat on your next visit to Camden, this is where to find the best food in Camden Market by a self-proclaimed Camden Market food connoisseur…
I still have a long Camden Market food bucket list so I’ll be sure to update this post as I try new things.

Yorkshire Burrito
Best place to eat in Camden Market for: traditional British grub with a unique twist.
Where? West Yard, Camden Lock Place, London NW1 8AF – AND – Top Floor, Buck Street Market, 198 Camden High St, London NW1 8QP
When? Mon – Thurs 12pm – 6:30pm. Fri – Sun 12pm -7pm.
What if I told you that you could enjoy a traditional British roast dinner… but in an easy-to-eat on-the-go dish!
Well, that’s exactly what the popular trader Yorkshire Burrito has created with their namesake dish.
The Yorkshire Burrito has given the traditional burrito a very British twist, featuring a giant Yorkshire pudding filled with slow-cooked roast beef (there’s roasted chicken and cheesy cauliflower too), vegetables, and gravy.
Tip: Make sure to ask for the gravy to come on the side (they’ll put it in a coffee cup), so you can gradually pour it over your burrito whenever you’re ready. This will stop the Yorkshire from going soggy before you’ve finished eating.

Basta Falafel & Grill
Best place to eat in Camden Market for: falafel that could turn any meat-eater vegan (for a day at least!)
Where? Unit 708, Camden Stables Market, London NW1 8AH
When? Mon – Sun 10:30am – 9pm
Whether you’re vegan or not, there’s no denying that Basta’s falafel is one of the best things to eat in Camden Market!
You’ll find several Camden food stalls serving the popular Middle Eastern street food, but Basta’s has to be the best. Don’t believe me? The stall will happily give you a free sample if you pass by.
The homemade falafel has a hot, crispy exterior that leads the way to a soft and flavorsome interior. I’m drooling just thinking about it!
You can enjoy your falafel in a fluffy pita with a side of fries. Or for a healthier option, opt for the veggie plate with falafel, lots of fresh vegetables, and a serving of chunky hummus.
And if falafel isn’t your thing, the stall also serves various other Middle Eastern dishes, including kebab, shawarma, and schnitzel.
Killa Waffles
Best place to eat in Camden Market for: one of the most innovative and indulgent chicken and waffle dishes in London.
Where? Unit 1.09-1.10, First Floor, Buck Street Market, 198 Camden High St, London NW1 8QP
When? Thursday – Sunday 11.30am – 5pm
One my personal faves on the Camden Market food scene is Killa Waffles and their delicious signature waffle cones.
Their delicate cheesy waffle cones overflow with crispy buttermilk chicken and mac & cheese, then drizzled in delicious sauces of your choice.
Killa Waffle also serves a selection of insanely insta-worthy fried chicken burgers and sweet waffles to round off your meal – if you can still handle it that is!
SteakHAUS
Best place to eat in Camden Market for: meat lovers.
Where? West Yard, Camden Lock Place, London NW1 8AF
When? Mon – Thurs 11am – 6pm. Fri – Sunday 11am – 7pm
Steak and chips from a street food stall for less than £10? Many foodies might wince at the very idea. But trust me, don’t knock it til you’ve tried it.
SteakHAUS serves up perfectly cooked steak on a bed of crispy rosemary french fries and topped with their signature sauces including ‘Best Béarnaise’, ‘Billy Gruff Butter’ and ‘STAKEhaus Secret Sauce’ (you can even mix and match).
Plus, SteakHAUS are aware of the effect that beef production has on the planet, so strives to source the most ethical and sustainable meat possible. All of their beef comes from British farms within 50 miles of London and where possible it is Pasture-Fed for Life.

Chin Chin Ice Cream
Best place to eat in Camden for: dessert.
Where? 49-50 Camden Lock Place, London NW1 8AF
When? 7 days a week 12pm – 7pm
Chin Chin is one of the best places to eat in Camden Market for so many reasons.
The first is that it’s Europe’s very first liquid nitrogen ice cream parlour. Their exciting variety of ice cream flavours are frozen with liquid nitrogen in what looks more like a mad scientist’s lab than a dessert parlour. Burnt Butter Caramel is my personal favourite flavour.
Chin Chin also serve a variety of indulgent desserts including griddled vegan cookie dough, brownie cookie sandwiches and a sticky toffee pudding sundae. All accompanied by a large scoop of ice cream.
If you’re looking for the best food in Camden Town during the colder winter months, skip the ice cream and treat yourself to Chin Chin’s famous hot chocolate instead.

Hans & Gretel
Best place to eat in Camden for: a sweet treat for all the family.
Where? Unit 91, North Yard, Camden Market, London NW1 8AH
When? 7 days a week 12pm – 7pm
Based on the Brothers Grimm’s tale of Hansel & Gretel, this fairly-tale-inspired dessert cafe is a must-visit if you’ve got a sweet tooth.
The walls and ceilings of the cafe are entirely covered in candy canes, lollipops and colourful sweets, all hanging from the large tree in the center. There’s also a candy house that you can sit inside for photos.
Once you recover from the visual treat this store is on the eyes, you can then treat your belly to delicious treats including Hungarian funnel cakes, ice-creams in waffle cones, freak shakes and more. And not to worry, the elaborate desserts are just as Instagrammable as the rest of the store.
