Throughout June and July every year, ZSL London Zoo in Regents Park opens its doors each Friday night from 6-10pm for London Zoo Nights (previously London Zoo Lates). This is a chance for people to experience the zoo after hours with a whole host of exciting activities and fun additions. Plus Zoo Nights is 18+ only so it’s a great opportunity for adults to enjoy the zoo without the usual abundance of children.
World Food Market
One of the main additions at London Zoo Nights is the World Food Market, with delicious food stalls offering everything from burgers and hotdogs to Moroccan chicken and Polish pierogi. There are also several pop-up bars selling beer, fruit cider, wine and of course soft drinks too. Yes, you are allowed to drink in the zoo – cool right!?

See the Animals
During London Zoo Nights you can still explore the zoo as usual, visiting the Land of the Lions, Penguin Beach and even getting up close in personal with the monkeys. There is even a programme of talks and feeding sessions throughout the evening.

Chance for learning
It wouldn’t be London Zoo without the opportunity for a little learning. You can take part in the interactive quiz show Zooniversity Challenge or learn about the mysteries of sex in the animal kingdom at The Birds and the Bees – Uncut.
Wild Yoga
Get practising your camel pose or frog pose (I had no idea they were a thing either) at Zoo Nights Wild Yoga sessions. However, maybe don’t hit the pop-up bars beforehand!
Entertainment
Finally, as the sun sets you can grab a drink and head down to Base Camp, where there are giant bean bags and deck chairs to relax on whilst watching the live music in the open air Light Lounge.
Gir Lion Lodge:
If you want to take your London Zoo Lates experience to a whole new level, you can now also stay overnight in the zoo at a Gir Lion Lodge, 9 unique themed lodges nestled within the elaborate Land of the Lions exhibit.
